Team Spirit? Tools for Advanced Engagement

Thursday, October 6, 2011: 10:15 AM-11:45 AM
Primary Presenter:
Marcia Lattanzi-Licht, LHD, RN, LPC
Area of Emphasis: Interdisciplinary Team
Learning Objectives:
1. Explore the loss of involvement and diminished investment in the interdisciplinary team
2. Examine tools for managing family and team conflicts effectively
3. Understand emerging patterns in team culture and the “spiritual life” of the team
Across the years, there has been decreasing emphasis on interdisciplinary team (IDT) functioning.  Turnover in staff, resource allocation and productivity demands have all placed negative pressure on the IDT. Team members lack role understanding, and limited interpersonal communication can create increased family and team conflict. This session offers a thoughtful perspective on current team practices. Our focus will be on the specific tools of conflict management and ways to enhance the “spiritual life” of your team.
