Wednesday, November 7, 2012: 11:15 AM-12:15 PM
Primary Presenter:
Joy Berger, FT, DMA, BCC, MT-BC
Area of Emphasis: Education
Learning Objectives:
1. Assess a current learning need for each of the following: your professional development, your IDT’s patient/family best practices, your agency’s response to an industry change
2. Using Knowles’ adult learning methods, describe an example of a timely learning need at your agency that has been effectively met, and a current, new educational need to address
3. Identify and describe three timeless meanings gleaned from your professional hospice role that enrich your life-purpose and quality of living
From hire to retire and everything in between, hospice and palliative professionals’ educational needs shift with one’s professional development, new best practices for patient/family care and healthcare industry changes.  Adult learning methods can guide us to provide timely, effective education for tending the right needs at the right times for the right professionals. Paired with targeted, timely professional education --- in the midst of this stressful work --- timeless meanings can be learned that deepen one’s personal purpose and qualities of living.
