1. Discuss how art therapy interventions encourage expression of child and adolescent grief
2. Describe how the fundamental principles of art therapy support grief processes of children and teens
3. Distinguish how a teen’s experience of grieving and grief counseling can differ from a child's grief experience
This session will explore specific art therapy grief related projects of a child and a teen depicting their feelings and observations after the death of their mother. Through the use of case studies, faculty will illustrate the general principles for intervention with children and teens and will utilize art to highlight the five fundamentals of art therapy.
