2. Describe three roles often played by family members within addictive family systems
3. State three options the team may provide addictive families in managing medications while preventing abuse or diversion
Addiction in end-of-life care can be a challenge to identify and manage while simultaneously ensuring on-going comfort care for the patient and support for the family. This presentation will provide assessment and intervention strategies, along with a field-tested protocol to assist the hospice’s interdisciplinary team in achieving this delicate balance.
