Providing spiritual care for patients with dementia can be challenging, and even daunting, leading some to either dread, or even avoid, it altogether.  We will provide a brief overview of the various types of dementia, which may impact one’s method of interacting with a patient.  Afterwards, we will discuss practical tools for assessing, connecting with, and caring for the psycho-social-spiritual needs of patients with this disease, as well as supporting their loved ones through the end of life.
