1. Discuss clinical and physiologic differences between delirium, dementia, anxiety and other agitation states
2. Perform discipline appropriate clinical assessment techniques needed to determine potentially reversible causes of delirium and agitation at end of life
3. Describe non pharmacologic techniques that are used in managing delirium and agitation
This session will discuss how delirium presents itself in end-of-life care and how to differentiate delirium from other confusional states. In addition, participants will learn about discipline specific assessments and what interventions can be offered to manage this problem at end of life.
