Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the current, fast changing, seemingly chaotic hospice environment as it impacts agencies and staff
2. Identify the perceptions and processes that hinder the transformation and compare them to the strengths and practices of hospice that have lasting value and power
3. Explore and assess approaches and practices that enhance growth and reduce burdensome tendencies
The unchartered nature of our current healthcare environment contributes to a sense of chaos and confusion which can leave agencies, including hospices, scrambling to find stability. Ironically, chaos can provide an opportunity for new solutions, changes or programs. Holding on to old mindsets, myths and practices can hinder our creativity and ability to see new possibilities. This presentation will explore ways in which we can get to the core issues that prevent positive change, from both a personal and organizational perspective, and begin moving forward with curiosity and positive intention.
