Learning Objectives:
1. Identify first principles of ethics and therapeutics
2. Be familiar with data from states and countries in which PAS is legal
3. Recognize potential adverse consequences of PAS on clinical practice, health systems, society and culture
Dr. Byock will review relevant first principles of ethics and therapeutics, present data from states and countries with legal PAS to examine adverse consequences on clinical practice, health systems, society and culture. Using cases drawn from practice, he will explore alternative responses to persistent suffering.
