Learning Objectives:
1. State the impact that the accountable care act has had on hospice
2. Identify strategies that position hospice as a partner in the community
3. Describe internal and external strategies to increase awareness and utilization of hospice
The focus of end-of-life care has always been quality patient/family centered care. However, the healthcare community and consumers are demanding more in terms of justification for this work than the anecdotal reports of staff and organizations that provide end-of-life care.
Providers must be knowledgeable about the challenges of healthcare in America and be able to position themselves as viable partners. A hospice’s value proposition must be based on a proven track record and quality data. This informative session will provide hospice leaders with innovative strategies to strengthen their positions in the community both as a hospice and a provider of advance illness management.
