Many hospice and palliative care organizations struggle to find money in their budgets for marketing and public relations. Using social media is an effective and low-cost way to increase community engagement, build brand recognition and drive traffic to an organization’s website. In this session, faculty will describe what type of content “works” for social media and the basics of the major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest). Participants will learn how to promote their organization, communicate with stakeholders and engage new audiences through social media.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss why hospice organizations should have a presence on social media
2. Utilize social media to reinforce brand and brand messaging
3. Describe how to use social media as a marketing tool
