Is there really a difference between for-profit and not-for-profit hospice and palliative care programs? Or, are the differences merely in the eyes of the beholder? This session will examine the law, regulations and research that attempts to point out the differences.

1. Compare and contrast for-profit and not-for-profit hospice and palliative care programs
2. Describe the legal and regulatory differences for each
3. Discuss how tax exempt status may or may not impact the delivery of hospice and palliative care services
