Have you ever thought about how you influence others? Center for Creative Leadership research shows that influence is the #1 challenge identified by C-suite executives. Considered a key skill for effective leadership, influence – or impacting the ideas, opinions and actions of others – is essential in today’s highly collaborative organizations. As such, it is imperative that leaders identify and understand their influence style and determine how and when it works for them and when it doesn’t. This preconference seminar will utilize a self-assessment to help you identify your primary influence style (there are five distinct styles) and help you determine when it advances your goals and what to do (or what other styles you might employ) when it creates barriers. A highly interactive and enlightening session, you’ll leave this seminar with an important new leadership tool for your success.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the role and importance of “influence” for today’s hospice and palliative care leaders
2. Identify one’s influence style and its benefits and burdens
3. Describe when and how to use a variety of influence styles
