Many patients seek therapies in addition to traditional Western medical interventions for their care. In palliative medicine, symptom management can be augmented with complementary and alternative medicine including acupuncture, aromatherapy, massage therapy and reiki among others. In this session, faculty will discuss how palliative and hospice teams can assist patients in honoring their end-of-life goals from physical, psychosocial and spiritual domains with a stronger emphasis on these additional therapies.

Learning Objectives:
1. Utilize complementary therapies to honor patient stories and end-of-life journey
2. Apply out-of-the-box thinking to enhance symptom management at end of life
3. Explain the role of complementary and alternative therapies in patient care
