The purpose of this presentation is to engage the audience in a discussion about effective partnering between community-based hospice and palliative care organizations and academic researchers.  The presentation will describe the urgent need for palliative care research, address challenges related to conducting research in the hospice and palliative care setting, introduce the Palliative Care Research Cooperative Group (PCRC) and identify opportunities for engagement of community-based hospice and palliative care organizations in clinically-relevant research.
