Area of Emphasis: Clinical Management
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the regulations and ethical consideration of telehospice interventions, specifically the Conditions of Participation for Hospice

3. Discuss the issues related to implementation of this intervention in their hospice team
The use of telehealth technologies to overcome the geographic distances in the delivery of hospice care has been termed telehospice. The types of technology vary from those that assist with communication to those that provide clinical data. As agencies consider the potential adoption and further development of such technology, hospice regulations as well as clinical evidence need to be explored. A current multi-site randomized clinical trial will be highlighted in this session that demonstrates the positive use of telehospice for caregivers and patients as technology is used to facilitate participation in interdisciplinary team meetings.
