3. Identify strategies that may help mitigate the distress experienced by direct care staff
Distress is, unfortunately, a common experience for medical, nursing and allied health staff who provide clinical care for children and young adults with complex, chronic conditions and severe neurologic impairments, both in the acute care setting and at home.  In this workshop, we will review the ethical principles that apply to the care of this population, evaluate some of the newest research in this area, and discuss practical methods to mitigate some of this distress in order to create a sustainable and fulfilling work environment for providers.
