Preparing to Serve: Mindfulness Practices for End-of-Life Care

Tuesday, November 6, 2012: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM
Primary Presenter:
Marian Ellen Green, LCSW
Area of Emphasis: Spiritual Care
Learning Objectives:
1. Define mindfulness as a meditation practice
2. Identify three personal challenges to being with the dying and grieving
3. Demonstrate two meditation techniques to use in serving the dying and grieving
With external pressures to focus on medical interventions at end of life, there is less attention focused on the wholeness of the dying and grieving process. This is a contemplative workshop that will explore and demonstrate mindfulness meditation techniques that can help to strengthen your capacity for being with and responding to suffering at the end of life.
