Performance measurement is the most basic component of quality measurement in any healthcare setting.  This session will discuss the basics of how performance measures are built, how they can be used, and what they do and do not represent.  Faculty will present information that is useful for both creating performance measures and implementing measures developed by others.  Participants will learn the basics of defining an event, defining a population, collecting and tabulating data, and creating and interpreting the results.
