One in four dying Americans is a Veteran, and there is a great need to honor them in our communities. We Honor Veterans teaches respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement for patients and family members with a history of military service. This session will examine how a small, community-based hospice initiated a successful program in three months and will outline the specific steps taken to celebrate service to our country. This session will include case studies of Veteran patients and discuss the program's impact on patient and family end-of-life experience. Participants in this session will also be able to take home specific steps for program implementation.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify needs within a program and/or community for enhanced Veteran's care
2. List available resources and activities that may be implemented toward launching a program
3. Describe a step-by-step process which will make a We Honor Veterans program feasible for any organization
