Learning Objectives:
1. Compare and contrast the status of end-of-life care in diverse prison settings
2. Describe a toolkit for enhancing end-of-life care in correctional settings and strategies for successful infusion
3. Relate how infusing end-of-life care into prison settings could be applied to other complex organizations
Open-ended interviews were completed with 188 prison workers and Participatory Action Research (PAR) was undertaken with 24 key informants (i.e., medical, chaplaincy, security, and support staff) to plan, assess, act, and observe transformations in prisons. The status of end-of-life care in diverse prisons, the PAR process and exemplars from a generalist toolkit will be presented.
