Learning Objectives:
1. Cite the changes in the upcoming revised Standards of Practice.
2. Discern the differences related to the Standards of Practice for providing hospice or palliative care to pediatric patients.
3. Identify specific ways in which the revised Standards of Practice can be applied in providing quality care to patients of all ages.
4. Discuss the impact of the Concurrent Care for Children legislation on providing palliative and hospice care.

Every hospice and palliative care program should be prepared to provide quality care for patients of all ages. In an effort to improve care across the continuum, the ChiPPS Quality Workgroup has recently collaborated with NHPCO to review and update the Pediatric Standards and incorporate them within the larger NHPCO Standards of Practice for Hospice Programs. This new version and approach will enable practitioners and organizations to uphold the highest quality of care throughout the lifespan.
