In addition to leading and managing people, hospice managers need to be skilled in understanding, harnessing and effectively utilizing financial information, data, trends and reports in order to be effective in their roles. This advanced finance module of the Hospice MDP will build upon the Level I "Managing with an Eye to Finances" module and help managers learn how to effectively utilize finance and data to inform, influence and affect their areas of responsibility. This module will briefly review key financial, data and reporting basics, but integrating the use of these basic tools is the key focus. The module will actively work with the following key financial management tools: dashboards (benchmarking, trending, key indicators and NHPCO dataset), staff productivity, costs of care analysis and new business/program analysis.
