1. Discuss the proposed content of the new CMS survey of caregiver experience with hospice care
2. Understand how CMS surveys are used to evaluate and compare health care providers and health plans
3. Consider the potential implications of the new hospice experience survey for quality improvement initiatives
This session will familiarize participants with the development, content, and purpose of the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hospice experience survey, and  compare the new survey with existing experience surveys, including the Family Evaluation of Hospice Care (FEHC).  In addition, current CMS programs that employ experience surveys for evaluation and comparison of other types of health care providers and plans will be discussed and described.
