Hospice audits are no longer one in a million as government concerns about fraud and abuse continue to increase.  Hospices are being audited more frequently and by a wide variety of auditors, ranging from single and multi-claim ZPIC audits to independent auditors looking at hospices' relatedness determinations in connection with Medicare Part D billing by pharmacies.  Based on their experience working with hospices across the country, the presenters will share their knowledge regarding these different types of audits, along with key methods that may help hospices avoid government scrutiny.  Attendees will also learn about the process, strategies, and pitfalls of responding to and appealing an audit - from the initial document request through the final resolution.
