1. Name the six core competencies developed by the ACGME Outcomes Project
2. Describe ways that components of the six core competencies can be applied to a 360 degree evaluation process for hospice and palliative medicine physicians
3. Identify the benefits and value of peer evaluation of the medical director
Many hospices have limited resources, knowledge and skills to conduct a thorough competency evaluation of their physician(s).  This session will describe the medical director evaluation process developed for a rural hospice program using evaluation tools based on the Core Competencies for Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician (based on the ACGME Outcomes Project domains first described in 1999).  Insights will be shared on the value this experience and tips for other hospices wanting to utilize a similar approach to developing a thorough physician competency evaluation process will be shared.
