Potomac 1-2 (Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center)
Primary Presenter:
Beth Huber, BSW, LNHA, MS
Co-Presenter:
Caron Tucker, RN, CHPN
Area of Emphasis: Access, Community Engagement and Marketing
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify how outreach and clinical management can pre-plan together for targeted growth
2. Identify strategic ways to hire staff, recruit volunteers, and provide education for targeted areas of expansion
3. Formulate a plan to successfully reach targeted service areas incorporating clinical as well as outreach objectives for census growth
Successful program development and expansion requires coordination and communication between all areas of an agency. For a hospice program to achieve growth and build census in new areas, both the outreach staff and clinical staff must plan and work together to develop a program that meets not only the patient's needs but also the needs of the agency. In order to be successful in new geographical areas, it is important to establish a footprint in the community. This session will identify ways to incorporate clinical staff in marketing strategies for expanding into new territories. Participants will explore ways to strategically hire staff, provide education and engage the community in building successful teams.
