CR8358 requires hospices to report their non-OTC medication dispensing on the hospice claim. Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region submits approximately $300,000, in Average Wholesale Pricing (AWP) terms, worth of medication dispenses every month on their hospice Medicare claims. This session will review the medication reporting aspect of CR8358 and describe why it is critically important for hospices to get this reporting correct. Also, faculty will outline their process for relating medications as this is the first step toward reporting dispensing activity, and they will describe the modifications made to their processes and EMR to maximize the reporting.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify gaps in your medication coverage algorithms
2. Analyze the process of importing medications to hospice claims
3. Identify metrics for monitoring effectiveness
