Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a frequent hospice and palliative care diagnosis. This session will review the contemporary evaluation and management of the hospice and palliative care COPD patient and discuss the challenges faced and strategies employed in prognosticating for patients with advanced COPD.

1. Acknowledge the impact of COPD on society and be able to describe the pathophysiology and diagnosis of COPD
2. Describe the role of hospice and palliative care in managing COPD
