Winning an appeal depends on the hospice staff's knowledge of all of the appeal rules and processes as well as the appropriate documentation needed in clinical records. In this session, you will learn how to navigate through appeals and win, about a Medicare beneficiary's right to appeal when the beneficiary is being discharged or the Medicare benefits cease, expedited appeals and the added discussion period when challenging a RAC audit finding. Faculty will also review key terminology including QIO, QIC, MAC, ALJ and more.
