Non-Profits Facing Scrutiny: A Community Case Study and Suggestions

In the wake of a series of non-profit scandals in Lexington, KY, the State Auditor published an Alert offering 28 recommendations to assist public and non-profit boards in designing and implementing internal controls and appropriate financial oversight. Faculty will examine the new climate of scrutiny for non-profits, specific recommendations and their application to hospice programs as well as the effect on agencies, executives and boards in the aftermath of malfeasance.
