In 2006, Congress passed Public Law 109-171, the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA), which under Section 5001(b) authorized the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to develop a plan for Value-Based Purchasing. Initial demonstration projects and regluatory changes have already been put into place for other healthcare providers, such as hospitals. This session will summarize some components, milestones, and strategies to prepare your hospice for value-based purchasing.
