The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a broad federal statute that requires employers to provide up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, job protected leave a year. Becoming familiar with the requirements of the statute, and understanding the process for administering the statute are essential in today's complex employment environment. Missteps can lead to employee dissatisfaction, HR nightmares and litigation. This session will identify those employers and employees impacted by the law, and provide a primer on implementing, administering and enforcing the provisions of the statute.
