In recent years, the incidence of hospice programs and other end-of-life providers being sued for wrongful death due to opiod overdose or medical negligence due to failure to honor final wishes has increased.  This session will discuss some consequences of negative publicity about hospice service, common plaintiff allegations and the four elements of a malpractice lawsuit.  Case studies will be reviewed from the presenter’s practice with a focus on documentation that supports a successful defense.
