Employees are the greatest asset to an organization and the greatest cost. Hiring well and then retaining qualified individuals can create the difference between a good and a great organization.  Hospices have the added responsibility to ensure that their clinical staff are specifically hospice and interdisciplinary competent.  Strong initial hospice orientation and an education continuum available for the employee throughout the first year of employment can greatly contribute to retention.  This workshop will discuss the steps necessary to develop an educational continuum within an organization that promotes staff retention and clinical competence while minimizing the cost of turnover.
