1. Identify how nonprofit organizations that embrace and develop the characteristics of the most well-governed organizations are able to improve their operations, governance, and long-term sustainability
2. Describe how to implement the Standards for Excellence to change and strengthen organizational operations and governance
3. Articulate how to access and utilize the many resources, tools, and skills available to assist organizations in modifying their management strategies and practices.
Leaders of nonprofit hospices are facing a crisis of confidence in fellow health care providers and nonprofits in general.  This session will introduce a set of best practices for nonprofit management and governance as outlined in the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector®.  Participants will learn about these standards through real examples and role play, and describe the tools and resources available to assist nonprofit management in achieving and demonstrating strong organizational practices.
