3. Identify strategies for maintaining standardization of care among multiple hospice houses
Hospice houses are unique entities in health care. Part inpatient hospital, part nursing home, part spiritual retreat and palliative oasis, there are idiosyncratic challenges faced in providing care in one. Faculty will describe medication variances, particularly in multi-dose liquid opioids, that pose ongoing challenges for hospices. In addition, participants will learn about occupancy issues involving care transitions, bed availability and regulatory requirements to meet Conditions of Participation standards.
