Reporting of quality measures has been a requirement for other healthcare sectors for several years.  With the passage of the health reform legislation, quality reporting has arrived for hospice as well.  Starting in 2013, hospices must report on quality measures determined by CMS or incur a 2% reduction in their market basket update.  This penalty is completely avoidable if hospices prepare for quality reporting NOW!

This session will provide detailed information on the tasks hospices must accomplish to prepare for and fulfill quality reporting requirements, including all aspects of implementation of mandatory performance measures with a special focus on data collection strategies.  An overview of the latest information about the current status of development of hospice quality measures and the direction quality reporting is taking, such as value-based purchasing for hospice, will be provided.
