Wednesday, March 28, 2012: 1:30 PM-4:30 PM
Chesapeake 5 (Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center)
Primary Presenter:
Richard Maxwell III, MHA
Area of Emphasis: Executive Leadership
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe and employ the framework and process for developing a collaborative community that will lead to better teamwork and patient outcomes.
2. While this workshop can be taken by itself, participants are encouraged to also take the Pre-Conference session titled Building a Thriving Organization through Tribal Leadership that will provide a larger perspective within which this session on collaboration will nest and offer deeper insights into this vital patient care coordination process.
3. Q and A
Teams do not merely happen.  They are built on a sound basis of collaboration.  But creating a collaborative community can be very challenging when the knowledge work at hand focuses more on the services provided by the individual than by the team.  This half day Pre-Conference Session is designed to take participants deep into the opportunities and challenges of creating a collaborative community.  If your Interdisciplinary Team meetings are simply a group of individuals reporting out with little effort or success at truly collaborating on the very best care for the patient based on the input from all team members, this intensive workshop is designed for you and your fellow team members.
