All complaints are important, but all may not require the resources of a full court press. How do you determine the difference? Join faculty to learn how to handle "real world" complaints within the framework of the final 60 Day Repayment Rule. From discerning what constitutes "credible information" to identifying the components of a "reasonable inquiry", hospices will learn how to triage complaints and develop an investigative infrastructure to efficiently handle both big and small issues. Participants will also gain the knowledge needed to determine when a compliance concern implicates payment and how to quantify the potential repayment in both scope and amount. Hospices will leave with the tools and knowledge to tackle complaints head on so they can move on.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify common complaints and how they take shape in government investigations and cases
2. Describe the implementation of the 60 Day Repayment Rule within the hospice regulatory framework
3. Discuss pitfalls to avoid in identifying potential repayments and strategies for proactive compliance
