There are many ways to conduct outreach that meets the needs of your organization and your community. By showing yourself as a true partner who wants to give, you engender goodwill and open the doors to all members of your community. The most successful outreach programs have been patient, and have taken time to simply observe and listen. Get creative and pursue opportunities that you wouldn’t ordinarily consider. Above all, remember the deeply rooted historical issues for most African Americans, and be sensitive to these in your interactions. Come hear and take away strategies to engage the community you serve in new and different ways from a panel of experienced professionals.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the importance of building partnerships within your community
2. Describe the role of the faith community in your outreach and how they can help in your efforts
3. Identify ways to participate in and host community events that help your organization become valued in the community
