Has sequestration cleaned out your marketing cupboard? It's time to go back to our roots and “cook smarter.” Traditional media relations, done well, tells your story effectively and costs you nothing. Sadly, it is under-utilized. In this session, marketing professionals with strong PR and media backgrounds will talk about fundamental principles of media relations that will greatly increase your productivity. Attendees will learn how to develop long-term relationships with local media (even in crowded markets), and how to write media releases that do not end up in the trash. Panel members will share their favorite “media recipes,” involving newspapers, magazines, TV and radio, with social networking campaigns thrown in for added spice.
